the new year

i hope everyone had a great holiday and now that my ps3 is up and running i realise how little money i hav even with my new job. though theres really only three games i want to get as soon as they come out. split/second, gow 3 and dark void. its gonna be a great new year and new decade.

Tony stark of alaska and the e-skin

So i havent updated in a while but thought it would be great for people to know of Americas own tony stark, a MR. Carlos Owen, whose creations include a mech suit and a flying bicycle. Here's an interview with him.

And talks of the e-skin have been floating around for a while now. Philips has finally unveiled an actual prototype. Hopefully it will be on most portable devices in the next couple of years and with bigger applications soon after that. For those who don't know the e-skin is a thin skin that changes color using the ambient light. I'm not even sure of the full science behind it if someone in the comments wants to explain it they can. heres a link to a gizmodo article about it:

As google-skynet talks continue i figured i should say...

So we all know that google is the closest thing to an omnipresent god we have. We all also know that skynet was quite similar before becoming self-aware. Scientists all over are working on robots that can learn. Also with a quick google search you can find anyone's personal information. In fact if one were to draw parallels between the timelines of the two it would seem skynet is a little slow. Google's only real competition is Microsoft and this new-fangled http://www.wolframalpha.com/ So lets say hypothetically ggogle buys out microsoft or wolframalpha. After this Google would easily be able to buy out the other one. Here are the current stock prices:

Im liking the wolfram alpha thing and so will people who dislike actually doing math. Thpugh google does math problems so does wolfram. Now if google-wolfram does arise it could easily take over apple and thenthere goes microsoft. At this point Google would own a near monopoly on all electronics , software, and ad revenue. After this that honda company that produced asimo or another one of those robotics companies could be taken over by google. At this point it wold have the ability to perfect and control learning robots. Then google takes over a company that mass produces cars or other heavy machinery allowing it to mass produce these smart robots. Now i personally see only a 20% chance of this scenario happening but i still like to keep some spare food and weapons in my cellar just in case. I know that I and several of my other friends with dogs buy uncle sams brand dog treats for our dogs. MAybe for a little laugh its funny to know that they are made in the peoples republic of china.

Public health concerns actually justify a lack of immunization on the grounds of global warming. So the train of thought is this:

Global warming bad--> Global warming is caused by the massive population--> A reduced population decreases global warming--> Immunization keeps people alive so Not having immunization kills a significant portion of the population--> A lack of immunization would then actually decrease global warming due to the decreased population

So ps3 goodies

So im going to wait for christmas so i can get a brand new ps3 slim. And theres some hot games coming out which i want dearly, mainly gow3, darksiders, dantes inferno, and assasins creed 2. anyone else want these. im a pretty big sony fanboy.
